MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES OF FALLOPIAN TUBE WITH P53 SIGNATURE ZONE. CLINICAL CASE AND LITERATURE REVIEW.
Abstract
This review explores the role of the TP53 gene in regulating the cell cycle, apoptosis, DNA repair, and its connection to cancer. Mutations in TP53 are found in a significant portion of cancers, leading to disrupted cell responses and poor prognosis. We focus on the p53 signature zone, an early indicator of neoplastic changes, commonly observed in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. The clinical significance of this zone remains unclear, though it may indicate precancerous changes, particularly in women with benign gynecological conditions. Current guidelines do not address management strategies for incidental p53 signature findings, prompting further research into its implications. A clinical case is presented to illustrate the diagnostic challenges and potential management strategies for patients with this signature.
