Displacement of the gastric band during pregnancy: a diagnostic challenge

Abstract

Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain during pregnancy present diagnostic challenges in patients with prior bariatric surgery. In this case, at 15 weeks of gestation, the patient presented with these symptoms and laparoscopic surgery was performed revealing a displacement of the gastric band and a gastric hernia through the band’s channel.
