Abstract

Summary. We report a case of a 24-year-old woman at 38 weeks and 4 days of gestation who was hospitalized for suspected chorioamnionitis. Due to persistent abnormal cardiotocography patterns and suspected fetal hypoxia, an emergency cesarean section was performed. Histopathological examination of the placenta confirmed acute chorioamnionitis. Renal impairment was identified during hospitalization, and sepsis complicated by obstructive right-sided pyelonephritis was diagnosed postpartum. Following ureteral stenting and antibacterial therapy, the patient’s condition improved.
