CONGENITAL TRACHEAL ATRESIA IN A NEWBORN. CASE REPORT
Keywords:
tracheal atresia, tracheoesophageal fistula, VACTERL association
Abstract
Tracheal atresia with a tracheoesophageal fistula is a rare congenital defect that is usually incompatible with life. Multiple malformations are associated with the VACTERL association. Prenatal diagnosis of polyhydramnios and other congenital malformations should alert physicians to possible tracheal problems. In this clinical case, the newborn, despite all the efforts made, has not survived.
