CHORIOCARCINOMA WITH METASTATIC SPREAD TO THE VAGINA AND LUNGS – A CLINICAL CASE REPORT

Abstract
Choriocarcinoma is a highly aggressive malignant tumour belonging to the gestational trophoblastic disease group. Choriocarcinoma is diagnosed in 1 in 40 000 pregnancies, and 1 in 40 cases after hydatidiform mole. It is characterized by early vascular invasion and metastasis. The diagnosis and beginning of the treatment can be difficult, due to choriocarcinoma having a variety of symptoms. This article describes a clinical case report of choriocarcinoma diagnosed in a 44-year-old woman with metastatic spread after pregnancy of unknown location.
