Abstract
Uterine fibroids, such as myoma, are one of the most common types of benign tumours, which affect about 20–25% of women. Symptoms such as hypermenorrhoea and pelvic pain have a huge impact on overall well-being of women. Pharmacological and surgical treatment remain a primary approach to treat uterine fibroids. Uterine artery embolization is an effective minimally invasive method for treatment of myoma, which is rarely performed in Lithuania. One of the first case presentation of uterine arteries embolization in Lithuania is presented in this article.
