Society’s Attitudes and Knowledge Toward Breastfeeding
Abstract
Summary. Aim. To identify the connections between society’s attitudes and knowledge toward breastfeeding.
Methods. Quantitative research was used for the study with participants chosen at random. Google Forms system was used for an anonymous survey of 850 respondents. Data was analyzed using “Microsoft Excel” and “IBM SPSS Statistics 27” computer applications. Research results. The average score of knowledge about breastfeeding was 4.15. The average score of attitude was 4.07. Correlation analysis showed that there is a strong connection between knowledge and attitude about breastfeeding. A moderate to strong correlation was found in broad demographic groups based on gender, age, marital status, number of children in the family, and education. Conclusions. The research data showed a favorable public attitude and sufficient knowledge about breastfeeding. A strong connection was found between knowledge and attitude toward breastfeeding.
