Abstract
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is a rare developmental defect of the diaphragm, characterised by
herniation of the abdominal organs into the thorax, leading to varying degrees of pulmonary hypoplasia and
pulmonary hypertension, resulting in high neonatal morbidity and mortality. This article describes a clinical case
of congenital diaphragmatic hernia diagnosed at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Hospital of
Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kauno klinikos and a detailed review of the literature.
