A THREE CASES REPORT OF FETOMATERNAL TRANSFUSION

Abstract
Fetomaternal transfusion is a condition, when fetal blood entering into the mother’s bloodstream at any time during pregnancy. A small amount of fetal blood into the mother circulation is a physiological event, but a massive transfusion can result the death of the fetus or it can lead to critically severe condition of the newborn. The pathology is rare, nevertheless 3 critically ill newborns were treated during a 2-week period in 2022– 2023 in the Neonatology Clinic of Kaunas Clinics because of fetomaternal transfusion.
