PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS AND CARE OF UTERINE SCAR DEHISCENCE AFTERCESAREAN SECTION
Abstract
One of the possible complications of Cesarean section (CS) is a uterine scar dehiscence (USD) during future pregnancy, manifested by a separation of the uterine musculature with intact uterine serosa. This condition significantly increases the risk of uterine rupture. There are no universal recommendations regarding the evaluation of uterine scar after a CS during pregnancy and the tactics of antenatal care and the time of delivery, thus the tactics are chosen individually in each case. This article describes a case of USD diagnosed during pregnancy and reviews the data of the scientific literature, paying special attention to the recommendations for prenatal diagnosis of USD and the tactics of further antenatal care after identifying the uterine scar.
