EARLY PREGNANCY LOSS: OVERVIEW OF DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

Abstract

Pregnancy loss is one of the most common pregnancy complications, ocurrs in approximately 15% of confirmed pregnancies, about 80% of pregnancies terminante in the first trimester. Miscarriage or missed abortion is usually confirmed by ultrasound when the patient complains of bleeding, abdominal pain or accidentally. Not only pregnancy loss, but also appearance of its simptoms, causes great stress for the patient, therefore accurate diagnosis is crucial. Possible treatment methods are discussed with the patient explaining their advantages and disadvantages and the most acceptable treatment for the patient is chosen.
