RECURRENT VAGINAL INFECTIONS. CANDIDIASIS
Abstract
Recurrent vaginal infections are a clinical challenge for a specialist; moreover, it can severely affect the quality of life of an affected women with social, psychological and economical consequences. Despite the algorithms given for the diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections, the increasing recurrence and persistence of these infections signals that the mechanisms of pathogenesis of infections are not yet quite clear, while the search for the most optimal and effective strategic algorithms for the diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections remains extremely relevant. Recommendations for the management of vulvovaginal candidosis and recurrent vulvovaginal candidosis are discussed in this review.
