CERVICAL CANCER ELIMINATION IN LITHUANIA. ARE WE ACHIEVING THIS GOAL?

Abstract

To eliminate cervical cancer, World Health Organization has set the following goals: comprehensive vaccination of the target group, timely screening with a reliable diagnostic test and appropriate disease monitoring and/or treatment. The article summarizes human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage in Lithuania, compares HPV vaccination data with other European countries, and analyzes the possibilities of cervical cancer elimination.
