Abstract
This article examines fetal hypoxia during labour and the antenatal period, focusing on its underlying physiological mechanisms, clinical features, and management strategies for its various types: gradually evolving, acute, subacute, and chronic hypoxia. The article underscores advancements in cardiotocography (CTG) interpretation, emphasizing the importance of physiological analysis, and offers evidence-based guidance on interventions such as intrauterine resuscitation and appropriately timed intervention. Practical tools like the “Fit-for-Labour” assessment are introduced to support clinical decision-making and improve maternal and fetal outcomes.
