ACUTE URINARY RETENTION IN PREGNANCY: DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC RECOMMENDATIONS

Abstract
Acute urinary retention in pregnancy is a rare condition, usually caused by a retroversion of the uterus and occurring in the first trimester of pregnancy. The condition affects women both emotionally and physically and requires prompt diagnosis and treatment to avoid long-term consequences for the woman’s health and the condition of the fetus. This article presents a clinical case of acute urinary retention in early pregnancy, reviews the literature, and discusses recommendations for diagnosing and treating acute urinary retention in pregnancy.
