Abstract

Hydrops fetalis is an accumulation of pathological fluid in more than two fetal serous cavities or soft tissues [1]. Severe fetal anemia accounts for 10 to 27% of hydrops. It can be detected byDoppler ultrasonography on the basis of an increase in the peak velocity of systolic blood flow in the middle cerebral artery [2, 3]. Intrauterine transfusion improves survival rate to 67% in severe hydrops cases [4].
