Vasa praevia: importance of the prenatal diagnosis
Keywords:

Abstract
Vasa praevia (VP) is a very rare pathology that, if undiagnosed, significantly reduces neonatal survival due to the potential risk of neonatal hypoxia and haemorrhage. Prenatal diagnosis of VP and a well-chosen timing of caesarean section can help prevent adverse pregnancy outcome. However, there are no high-level evidence recommendations, which propose universal screening for VP. The article presents the case of a prenatally undiagnosed VP and provides literature review.
