CONSTIPATION DURING PREGNANCY

Abstract
Constipation is a common bowel disorder, which affects 14 percent of general population, characterized by pain and discomfort, straining, hard stools and feeling of incomplete bowel movement. During pregnancy anatomical, hormonal and lifestyle changes predispose constipation in up to 61 percent of pregnant women. This article provides information about constipation during pregnancy, its causes, prevention and possible treatment methods.
