Abstract
Urinary tract infection is one of the most common infections during pregnancy. Lithuanian and international guidelines recommend screening for asymptomatic bacteriuria and its treatment with antibiotics. Lithuanian guidelines "Asymptomatic bacteriuria during pregnancy diagnostics and treatment" state that first line antibakterial treatment for this condition is nitrofurantoin and amoxicillin, whereas fosfomycin is second line treatment. The aim of this article is to provide more information regarding fosfomycin usage for asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy.
