Abstract

Abnormally invasive placenta (AIP) is an increasingly diagnosed condition that can lead to lifethreatening bleeding during delivery. It is important to antenatally suspect or diagnose PAS in order to select the most effective and safest method of treatment. Evidence shows that outcomes are improved when delivery is accomplished in Centers of Excellence with multidisciplinary teams. This literature review highlights the requirements for a Center of Excellence and importance of a multidisciplinary team approach in diagnosing and treating this complex condition.
