Abstract

Adenomyosis is an invasion of the endometrium to myometrium. The disease can be asymptomatic or menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea and metrorrhagia may occur. Adenomyosis is diagnosed by radiological or histological examination. During pregnancy, adenomyosis can cause weakness of the uterine wall, which can lead to various complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. The main ones are premature miscarriage, premature birth, fetal growth restriction, placental abnormalities, uterine atony, or uncontrolled bleeding during pregnancy, labor, or postpartum. There are no recommendations for the care of a pregnant woman with a diagnosis of adenomyosis.
